I was with like a whole group of people from somekind of school and we were at an open/outdoor stadium the clouds were really dark and there were lightnings every second. We were all sitting down facing the open sky. And everyone including me where talking amongst one another, and someone even mentioned ’2012′ . Like seriously! Then there was a strong wind.

AND LOL, I woke up cuz my mum was nagging -.-

We have a large, open double front door entry – which looks really nice. The double front door is painted black.

Given we are situated in the tropics, mosquitoes and other random insects like to hover at our front door. You can enter/exit with lightning speed, but always guaranteed a mozzie will slip in behind us anyway.

A painter contact thru a friend of ours commented that the black front doors would be attractive to mozzies.

I’ve Googled ‘what colours deter insects’ but have found conflicting advice.

To add to this, the alcove area above this front door (which has a ‘lip’ to it – therefore offering protection from the wet season rains when they are all breeding), has two halogen downlights.

These two downlights are on the same electrical switch as all of the remaining outdoor feature lighting, which does look nice.
Alas – the bright lighting at the front door step only attracts even MORE mozzies during the evening when in use.

Removing these two bulbs and simply not using these two downlights is not an option. We have a video camera doorbell for security purposes, and need to be able to see the person standing at the front door.

I want to remove the two (white) halogen bulbs, and replace with a lower wattage, soft colour bulb. But what colour should I choose???

Please no-one suggest red (since this is a family home and not a brothel)

Current colour options available thru our local lighting retailers are ‘rainbow’ – which I’m told have a pinky/purple tone to them.
Yellow, blue or green.

Which of these colours would best deter insects?????????

What gives? I can mount it outside with bad weather, rain, cold…etc, but not inside? It doesn’t get hot or anything?

Can some explain this to me as to why it can only be mounted outside or if it poses a danger? I don’t get it!!!

After this the system (running Ac) would not turn off, running constant cold air to the upstairs split (never changing back and forth from up and down stairs… at max air) The AC was set to cold and to stop at 73, and it ran upstairs keeping the temp around 68 degrees. That is when I noticed the problem.) I turned off the circuit breaker and it would stop, turned on and it world start up again. Naturally, I checked the contactor, and it was engaged even when the system was off, so I changed it.

Now the fan will not turn on not for hot or cold air while the contactor is engaged. We simply don’t have any air blowing. The outdoor fan runs. I checked the upstairs(attic) panel, powered down and started up. The system gave green lights for the fan, Cool air, and all zones but Zone 3 (the thermostat zone) which was red. I changed the thermostat and this light remains red.

When I put in the new the contactor it not engage on it’s own. I can manually connect it and the outdoor fan turns on, but the indoor remains off. It’s off for hot and cold air. It just doesn’t seem to be getting enough power to make the magnet work on it’s own. I can’t hep but think that the problem that made it connect and cause non-stop air is the same problem causing it to not connect and blow at all. Can
I get a little help here?
Also I haven’t had any trips on the circuit breaker.
